TORABHAIG DISTILLERY
It’s early days for us. While we’ve been in full production since January 2017, our whiskies are still taking shape. For a start they are not even whisky yet, three years is the minimum time the spirit must spend in cask before it is Scotch Whisky, and even then most would tell you that it’s a lot longer before a good Single Malt comes of age.
So we feel we would be getting ahead of ourselves to start making claims about the whisky we are making, instead we can tell you about our thoughts on making whisky.
EILEAN DONAN CASTLE
Eilean Donan is a small tidal island where three sea lochs meet, Loch Duich, Loch Long and Loch Alsh, in the western Highlands of Scotland.
A picturesque castle that frequently appears in photographs, film and television dominates the island, which lies about 1 kilometre from the village of Dornie.
THE SKYE MUSEUM OF ISLAND LIFE
Walking into the museum is like stepping back in time to an old Highland village. The museum, which consists of seven traditional thatched cottages, offers visitors a unique experience and a true insight into island life 100 years ago.
Opened in 1965, the aim of the museum was to completely preserve a township of thatched cottages, each depicting the conditions that 19th century crofters faced.
ARMADALE CASTLE, GARDENS & MUSEUM OF THE ISLES
Welcome to our magnificent Highland estate on the magical Isle of Skye. Explore spectacular gardens set around the romantic ruins of Armadale Castle.
Immerse yourself in history at our museum and discover the epic story of Clan Donald, Scotland’s largest and most powerful clan.
TALISKER DISTILLERY
The oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye, set on the shores of Loch Harport with dramatic views of the Cuillins.
This Alluring sweet, full bodied single malt is so easy to enjoy, and like Skye itself, so hard to leave.
DINOSAUR PRINTS AT STAFFIN
On the beach at An Corran, Staffin, are some remarkable footprints. They were left by a family of dinosaurs that walked across the sand here some 165 million years ago.
To put that in context, the gabbro rocks of the Cuillin were formed about 60 million years ago, and they were carved by the glaciers of the last ice age on Skye just 11,000 years ago. These are very, very old footprints.

DUNVEGAN CASTLE & GARDENS
Sir Reginald MacLeod (27th Chief) was the first Chief to open Dunvegan to the public in 1933 for charitable purposes two days a week. Since then, the number of visitors has risen from a few hundred to hundreds of thousands.
Despite such numbers crowding into a space that was designed to keep people out, we do everything we can to maintain this atmosphere of a family home while sharing our passion for Dunvegan’s historic collection with you.
AROS COMMUNITY & CULTURAL CENTER
Aros is a popular visitor attraction and community cultural centre offering exhibitions, cinema, live music, comedy, dance, drama, theatre, galleries and workshops.
With a family friendly restaurant, gift shop and children’s play areas.
HIGHLAND GAMES
The Skye Highland Games Association particularly welcomes all visitors to Skye. The Games were inaugurated in 1877 by the Skye Gathering Committee, who also own the field and still support the Games. Except during the World Wars they have taken place annually in this natural amphitheatre from which some of the stones used to build the Gathering Hall were quarried.
The Games consist of Heavy Field Events, Athletics, Piping and Highland Dancing.
